redbaron1982 Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Hey, 10 days ago I've put my first order of prepaid oil analysis kits from Blackstone. I haven't had any update other than an email confirming the order, and no shipping so far. On Wednesday I sent an email just to ask if everything was ok and didn't get any reply. Is this normal? I'm not in a hurry but seems strange that they haven't shipped the order in 10 days. Quote

PT20J Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 The last kit I set to Blackstone took 2 weeks to arrive via USPS. I’ve found them instantly responsive via telephone. Quote
EricJ Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Ten days isn't bad. It usually takes a little bit to process it and get the results out, so I'd suspect you'll get results in the next week or so. I've noted a fair amount of variation in the time it takes to get results back, but they always come back. Since they're really mostly good for tracking long-term trends, the delay really isn't consequential. Quote
redbaron1982 Posted May 19, 2023 Author Report Posted May 19, 2023 I was confused about how it works. I prepaid 3 tests and was expecting them to send the sampling kits. The thing is they don't do that. You need to specifically request the sampling kits. Now that they got may email, they shipped today the sampling kits. Quote

Yeah, sometimes they send a big box of sampling kits...I think I got a dozen once. 1 Quote
PT20J Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Yep, the prepayment doesn’t have anything to do with the kits. It’s just money on account. You can request kits separately (they are free), or you can request they send a kit on the form you send with your sample. I too found a lot of variability in the time it takes to get results, so I started writing down the tracking number and that’s how I know it took a couple of weeks for the post office to deliver it to Blackstone. Blackstone turned it around in a couple of days. 1 Quote
