I have the original style strobe on my C and when it flashes, I hear a sound in my headset and see a pretty big bounce in my ammeter, oil temp and oil pressure gauges in the original, analog instruments.  I'm replacing those with a JPI EDM-930 when I do my annual, which I hope will make the bounce less noticeable but, I'd really like to get rid of the sound in the headset/comms as well if I can.  Would replacing the strobe with an LED accomplish that?

Another question, what's the best option to replace the beacon strobe on the bottom of my C?  The one I have currently is clear/white.

Before I upgraded my avionics, I heard the same thing. I could hear the powersupply charging up every flash. I feel like it was my old archaic audio panel and some sort of grounding issue. I don't hear it in my headset anymore. It's very nice.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a grounding issue.  Based on some other stuff I've seen done in the avionics, I'm pretty certain things were grounded to the aircraft body instead of running everything back to a central grounding bus.  It's something I'll be looking into when we're working on everything else, there's going to be a lot of changes made to the wiring anyway replacing all the gauges so I might as well straighten it all out at the same time.
