JamesMooney Posted January 23, 2023 Report Posted January 23, 2023 Hey folks. I've been in CA on the Central Coast for about 6 months. Struggling to find an A&P with any sort of availability. Did a few oil changes at SMX, but they can't help with anything more substantial. For instance, to diagnose an electrical issue, they told me to wait until mid-March... I can't ground my plane for 2 months at a time Any recommendations for A&Ps with a willingness to take on a new Mooney for regular mx and service - anywhere between LA and SF? (the closer to SBP/PRB/SMX, the better - but understand if I have to travel a bit ) Thanks Quote
kortopates Posted January 23, 2023 Report Posted January 23, 2023 Top Gun is excellent MSC in Stockton Absolute Aero in Hayward is full service shop that does a lot of Mooney work but not an MSC @ilovecornfields uses a mechanic at SBP that has Mooney experience 1 1 Quote
MooneyMitch Posted January 24, 2023 Report Posted January 24, 2023 Darn, I’m sorry Coastal Valley was not able to help you currently. I know recently they lost one longtime employee. They are booked for annuals out to December as well. If you don’t mind sharing, what’s your electrical issue? 1 Quote
Tommooney Posted January 24, 2023 Report Posted January 24, 2023 San Luis avionics installed my ADS-B in 2020 as promised. I thought it was great service. Maybe they can help? Not knowing your electric type of problem though. Good luck. Tom 1 Quote
carusoam Posted January 24, 2023 Report Posted January 24, 2023 +1 for how difficult the problem is… MS is pretty handy for getting to the next level… Best regards, -a- Quote

Ron McBride Posted January 24, 2023 Report Posted January 24, 2023 I used to go to a shop in Madera, sorry, I sold the plane and I don’t remember the name or phone numbers either. Quote
