M20J Yoke Shaft Help

Any tips on how to clean up this yoke Shaft and bring back some shine?

Any metal polish would be a starting point.

If it is pitted, I might go over it with some Scotchbrite before polishing it. Then I would keep a thin coat of silicon spray on it to reduce friction and help keep it from oxidizing.
