gwav8or Posted August 5, 2022 Report Posted August 5, 2022 I've been looking for an F model with manual gear since December/January. I looked at many, many Mooneys. Cs, Es, Fs, Gs manual gear, electric gear, etc. Found a couple Mooneys that were good candidates but never had "that feeling" about any of them. Finally about a month ago, a friend of mine told me about a Mooney that was potentially for sale. I reluctantly called the owner and sure enough he was willing to sell me his 1967 F. However he wanted to wait a few weeks before making the final decision. Well, he called me on Monday to let me know that he was indeed going to sell! Prebuy/Annual is starting next week. I was able to find an MSC trained mechanic nearby and he agreed to do a prebuy/evaluation followed by completion of an annual. I also have a previous mechanic that I'd trust to work on any aircraft that's gonna check things out too. The plane is fairly basic. Original interior (decent shape), 20+ year old paint (that honestly looks almost brand new), basic IFR radios (no GPS). No leaks, gear discs look brand new. I'm trying not to get excited yet because I know things can be found during the prebuy/annual, but it just feels right. I absolutely can not wait to join the Mooney owner club and to fly this wonderful machine! 6 Quote
