Panel height M20K's vs Post 2000 Long Bodies

Those with seat time in both models (K's & short panel LB's):  vertically challenged (5'7") MFNG wannabe requests comparison on panel height??

All long bodies have fully articulating seats. Means even if you get a pre 04 LB, you should still have no issue seeing over the dash.

Not because of my physical height, but for comfort, I've had a Tempurpedic seat cushion for years.  When other Mooney pilots get in the plane they often comment about how high they feel in the plane.  So any kind of those comfort cushions should help if your feeling too low behind the panel.

Keep in mind…

+1 for adjustable eye height… the seats can put your eyes near the roof…

What you are probably looking for… looking over the cowling…

I have the O1 / tall panel…

The long nose over an IO550 makes the tall panel not much of an issue… 

 

unfortunately, Sitting height is the key factor to discuss…

Not everyone has measured their sitting height…

 

If you are blessed with short legs… your 5’7 might be pretty tall in the saddle…
