PT20J Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 I'm wondering if anyone else had observed this issue that started happening after installing v9.0 software. After powering up the G3X, the Lean Assist button does not display on the Engine page accessed by touching the EIS portion of the PFD. Touching the EIS section of the PFD again closes the Engine page and then touching it again reopens the Engine page and the Lean Assist button is then present. This happens about a third of the time. Other times the Lean Assist button is present upon the first opening of the Engine page. Skip Quote
rbp Posted April 29, 2022 Report Posted April 29, 2022 (edited) greyed out on my MFD rn. not sure if that's related to the low power setting i have TIT on the EIS strip, and lean to 1550 on that Edited April 29, 2022 by rbp Quote
PT20J Posted April 30, 2022 Author Report Posted April 30, 2022 That looks normal for Lean Assist not active. In my case the whole button is missing and the gauges are rearranged to fill the space. Only happens sometimes right after boot and corrects itself if I close and reopen the screen. Quote
PT20J Posted May 6, 2022 Author Report Posted May 6, 2022 G3X software team was able to duplicate and is looking into the cause. Trek saved the day once again. Skip 1 Quote

Prairie Dog Aviation Posted June 9, 2022 Report Posted June 9, 2022 My lean assist button doesn't show even though the GEA 24 was installed and I have an engine information system. I'm going to contact my A&P about it along with Garmin. I also ran into another problem that I need to contact Garmin about. The mechanic pulled the breaker on the PFD G3X to show me how the MFD G3X would then take over as a PFD, which it did. He then restored the breaker on the PFD to show me how the MFD G3X would be restored to its original functions. Only problem is that it stayed as a PFD and I haven't been able to change it back to being an MFD. Seems like there should be some simple thing I can do but even the manual says nothing about how an MFD will go back to being just an MFD after it has been put into reversionary mode because the PFD was disabled. carusoam Posted June 10, 2022 Report Posted June 10, 2022 (edited) Welcome aboard Dog! We have a Garmin guy around here some days… named @TrekLawler… Sometimes it is better to go find Trek, than wait for him to come by…. We also have a guy that is pretty good with new Garmin equipment…. Let’s invite @PT20J to stop by again… (reversion and un reversion question) Best regards, -a- Edited June 10, 2022 by carusoam Quote

Sounds like Lean Assist isn’t enabled in the EIS configuration page in configuration mode. I don’t have a second GDU so I don’t have any experience with reversion. Usually g3expert@garmin.com is helpful with questions on operation. Skip Quote
