And why won’t an IO360 catch fire if flooded? They puke fuel like all the rest

Fuel injection doesn’t have that issue, carbs do.

Carb over flow… is drained over the front tire…

Fuel injector overflow… is drained out the sniffle valve…

It is easy to regulate how much fuel is used….

Carb uses the accelerator pump, counted in pumps of the throttle…

Injectors use the fuel pump, counted in seconds of the electric switch…

Procedures for really cold starts… above 20°F…

Mooney Carb doesn’t have much to go on… leading to a lot of pumps and plenty of fuel on the tire…

Mooney Injectors have much better procedures written… leading to fewer fuel drops ever reaching the ground…

The important detail that gets left out of the conversation…and procedures… is how time of evaporation is affected by temperature…and where the fuel is sitting while evaporating…

Where does the primer fuel go when the pumps deliver it?

PP surmising only, the excess fuel has to go somewhere…

Best regards,

Say what? A carburetor has this thing called a "float" which closes off this other thing called a "valve", and then it no longer admits fuel to the bowl. If you've a carburetor pissing fuel on the ground, something is broken.

Where did I say that?  The question was hot starting a IO360 and somebody made a comment about an induction fire.  That isn’t an issue with injection.

Post you replied to says "they puke fuel like any other". You replied "no, that's what carburetors do."
