David M20J Posted March 21, 2022 Report Share Posted March 21, 2022 Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and wasn't sure where to post this... I just recently purchased a 1977 Mooney M20J with a partner. I am looking for a local CFI/I preferably in the Phoenix area; the plane is based at KGEU for now. I have my CFI/I rotorcraft helicopter and work as a Helicopter Air Ambulance pilot with just over 3,000 hours helicopter. I recently (June 2021) added a ASEL PPL in a C172 and am just shy of 100 hours fixed wing. I have zero time in model and zero retract time. What I am looking for first is to take as many hours dual as needed to get comfortable with a fast complex machine, second meet insurance requirements before I can carry passengers and third add-on Instrument ASEL. Looking for an experienced Mooney person to really help me learn the ins and outs of my new to me aircraft. I do a reasonable amount of Mooney transition training but the above will take a lot more hours than I can devote to it.
