In for a penny, in for a pound while doing my avionics upgrade; might as well fix all the squawks while the panel is gutted.  Doubt I'll find a FS-450, but its worth asking before I shell out the full $500+ for a new one.

On the Carb Temp front, I've got a Mid Continent MD11 in there now, but I think both the probe and the gauge are bad.

I’ve got a 450 with transducer I’m pulling tomorrow due to a full dynon upgrade. It’s got about 6 hours on it. Shoot me a message and we’ll get you setup.

What engine monitor do you have?  You can easily add CRB to an EDM700, not to a FS450.  You can add FF to a 700, advantage is that your fuel data gets recorded along with other engine instrumentation.  And you are 'ready' for an EDM830 upgrade sometime.

I have 450's, 700's (all flavours) and EDM800's in stock, taken in on trade for 830's and 900's.

@Aerodon  My JPI 700 was repaired with a new screen WEEKS before I bought the plane; didn't really feel like sending it back to add the Fuel Flow to it for what they were going to charge.  Additionally, I have some holes in the panel to fill now after removing all the INOP stuff + ADF so the FS-450 seemed like a good way to go.  @Robert Hicks is hooking me up.

Good call, however, on the Carb Temp Probe and the 700 - I thought you had to send it in as well for an upgrade to unlock that, but it appears that is not so.  I'll probably grab a sensor next paycheck and throw that in the harness at Annual next month.  Do you sell the probe?  I'd rather send my money to a small business than the Spruce if possible.

For the JPI...

It has many functions that are programmed in already...

Every start-up of the instrument has a sensor search...

When the sensors are found each time... part of the display becomes alive to show the data...

One of the things about carb temp... there is a range that ice can be a problem...

A carb temp gauge is nice because it is decorated with colored ranges to make things less of a memory challenge...

the cool thing is... the carb already has the location for a probe to be inserted...

The reason for sending JPIs back for service when getting different sensors....

Such as Cies fuel level sensors.... the actual sensor type is different and JPI was unable to see this change coming...

New JPIs coming from the factory don’t have to be sent back for different fuel level sensors anymore... they now have the skills to be selected in the field...

PP thoughts only, not an instrument technician...
