Planegary Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 I landed in klvk this evening and taxiing in I saw an older Mooney on its nose but the props were not bent,the mains were down and locked but the nose gear was folded up.I asked the line guy at 5 rivers about it and he told me that the owner had an emergency landing on a road and after successfully landing without damage a car hit it. How ironic 3

PT20J Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 Many years ago at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, a submarine was coming in for maintenance after a patrol (at the time, the company I worked for had a contract to install some equipment while it was at the shipyard). The captain's wife had permission to drive down to the slip to greet it. The XO was learning to dock and came in too fast crashed into the captain's wife's car.
