Why so much angst when I changed the OPS "dampner" to "dampener", but no throwback on the OP for putting that extra "n" into "damper"? To me, the damper is that adjustable plate in my chimney used to modulate airflow through the fire, and "dampner" is not a word at all.

He was corrected in post #2 by someone else and humbly admitted his error.
V1VRV2 Posted November 4, 2021 Report Posted November 4, 2021 I have an Ovation with a GFC500 yaw damper. I love it. Do not regret purchase. I do a GUMPSY check. Gear, undercarriage, mixture, prop, spoilers, yaw damper. Forgot to retract the spoilers more times than I’d like to admit.

I'd not have thought so, but I am no expert. Yes they are... but... There is a test that must be done after install, which is running the trim stop to stop in both directions in under a certain amount of time. My plane took too much time and needed some cleaning and lubing to the trim system for it to pass. My J did not have electric trim from the factory, it now has it via the GFC 500.
