The challenge is...

  • Its simple
  • it works
  • it keeps the fan on
  • it wears out after 40 to 50 years

  • There is an OH kit for that... (I think)  A set of common wear items...

Every now and then, an owner needs to save some money...  There are also pre-flown parts like that...  Find Alan, see what he has on the shelf...

PP thoughts only, not a mechanic...

A quick search will locate the manual with maintenance and parts.  It’s pretty basic maintenance.

I replaced mine several years ago while troubleshooting a mag issue. I don’t think the old one has any issues. Your welcome to it if it will work in your E. Out of a 62C s/n 2018.

I have a Bendix ignition switch from my 1968 F.  It went unused for 26 years while my plane sat in a hangar in TX.  It is in excellent shape.  When I redid my panel, we simply put in a new one along with the new everything else.

Give me a call or contact me here is you are interested.  I can sell for a reasonable price.  It will save me from posting on e-bay.

A year or so ago a number of Bendix,  push to start, rebuild kits were on E-bay.  Does anyone have one of those kits to sell?

ACS builds Bendix ignition switches... and build kits/parts...

They sell their wares at aircraft spruce and others...

But, their company is so small they don’t have much of a web presence...

It might be better to call them up, or send an email...
