rbridges Posted September 29, 2011 Report Posted September 29, 2011 good price, but I know very little about it. A new one runs $2200. Here's the link for the one I found on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Icarus-GPSS-Roll-Steering-/220862934210?pt=Motors_Aviation_Parts_Gear&hash=item336c74ecc2 Quote

rbridges Posted September 29, 2011 Author Report Posted September 29, 2011 Quote: N601RX It doesn't mention a yellow tag or 8130 so find out what that will cost and add that to the purchase price. Also find out if your shop charges more to install a used part vs a new part that you purchased from them. Also find out if an STC is required for install and if and how much Icarus will charge to transfer it to your plane. I was looking at used 430's a while back and found out that every shop I asked charged about $1000 more to install a used 430. If I would buy a new one from them they were willing to "eat" some of the labor. Just be sure you know that the total installed price of the used Icarus vs new. With the 430 there was little if any difference. Quote
jetdriven Posted September 30, 2011 Report Posted September 30, 2011 An 8130 or yell0w tag is not a required item to install used equipment. It is an easy way to establish airworthiness but the final determination is the installing mechanic. Quote
