Have been doing the take out since this began. As soon as the hotels open here in CA we will take Snoopy and pay them a visit. When the retailers will be allowed to have shopping inside their doors we will hit them up for some serious retailing. I took Snoopy flying last week. He was exhausted afterwards! 6 1 Quote

bonal Posted May 17, 2020 Author Report Posted May 17, 2020 We used to talk in billions and that was bad enough now we talk trillions like its no big deal. Is there even such a thing as a gazillion. How many generations should we saddle with this kind of debt. 1 Quote

It happens every time. When I lived in San Diego, we had a water shortage. The mayor asked people to conserve, and everyone did it so well that the Public Works department had to raise the price of water in order not to go broke. Be careful what you wish/ask for. Here in Michigan, Detroit needs to stay locked down. Up in the Upper Peninsula, it probably needs to be wide-open ( @Yooper Rocketman can probably chime in). One size definitely does not fit all. Well ....... it finally happened. With less than one COVID-19 case per 1,000 people ( we are actually at 1 in every 3,000), and only 7 new cases for the month of May across our 311,000+ population, our governor considered the U.P. safe enough to open up. If we were our own state, we would likely have had the lowest state infection rate in the country. Sure hope you poor folks downstate don’t have to reach OUR numbers to be freed up. You’ll be locked down until next year. There’s a lot of happy “Yooper” red necks today. Tom 5 Quote
carusoam Posted May 19, 2020 Report Posted May 19, 2020 Looks like knowledge is really powerful... 1) knowing how to stop spreading the virus has been really helpful... 2) Slowing the rate of spread... is really important... 3) Why slowing the rate is important... (we have a rate of spread) 4) People seem to recover within weeks... some even faster... (we have a rate of cure) (sad, that not everybody makes it...) 4.5) Some meds (Remdesivir) and other medical treatments have also shortened the recovery rate... 5) these related rates combine... 6) When the rate of spread < rate of cure.... the virus dies out! 7) Spread the word... (not the virus) 8) other things that help slow the spread... proper tests have become available to help people identify if they are a carrier, or have been a carrier of the virus... 9) keep in mind as soon as you let your guard down... the natural rate of virus spread can return... 10) In NJ... we will be wearing masks, hiding behind plastic shields, and washing hands for a while... 11) nothing scarier than somebody pointing a thermometer towards your head that is shaped like a gun... with a trigger. The natural rate of spread is incredibly fast for this thing... don’t let it get started again... PP thoughts only, in a red zone... Best regards, -a- Quote
