FloridaMan Posted December 31, 2019 Report Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) I didn’t level off to see where I’d cruise because I was over sitting there in the climb and it was getting kindof cool. I think I still had another 1000ft or more available to me. temperature on the ground was in the mid 60s and up high it was in the teens. I was wearing a short sleeve shirt. carusoam Posted December 31, 2019 Report Posted December 31, 2019 Last flight before ADSB rules change? Or... I was in such a rush, I grabbed the wrong keys and left the Rocket behind? Or... I left the Rocket keys in my winter coat back at home? Go M20F! Happy New Year, -a- 2 Quote

Wow I’m impressed/ I wouldn’t have guessed it was possible. Quote

Ragsf15e Posted December 31, 2019 Report Posted December 31, 2019 Light weight for sure, right? Quote
ArtVandelay Posted December 31, 2019 Report Posted December 31, 2019 Technically your service ceiling changes with weight, at 2300lbs, the 201 ceiling is FL230 Quote

FloridaMan Posted December 31, 2019 Author Report Posted December 31, 2019 Well, I guess I can go to 17,500 and get the numbers for there with 978UAT. FL220 is somewhat impractical unless you’ve got some rippin tailwinds or want to put a lot of distance between you and weather below you or the ground, or if you have to go over a TFR that’s boxed in by weather, but it’s nice to know that it’s an option if you really need it. It took 20 minutes to get from 17,500 to 220, though I wasn’t as aggressive in the climb as I could’ve been. Quote
GeeBee Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 Were you over FL? What area? ATC gets real quirky at the low FL's in Florida. Quote
Immelman Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 Nicely done. I quit at 210. I think our airplanes could do 250. Risk starts to go up quickly with any O2 issue. What an amazing wing we have... Quote
kortopates Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 What was the total climb time? Do you recall how many inches of MP you had at the top?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

I regret not doing it now and collecting data, but it was uncomfortable. Edited January 1, 2020 by FloridaMan Quote

Stephen Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 Probably the T-shirt vs temps at altitude, nice job Alan, good ro know! 1 Quote
Yetti Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 Interesting 43 minutes for the climb. I am to lazy to calculate how far down range would you be from GPS? Or what was your climb MPH and I can E6B it. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted January 1, 2020 Report Posted January 1, 2020 FlightAware says you hit 221 MPH in the descent, that’s hauling! Quote

On an IR flight plan... as covered early... airport, point in space, returned to airport... if I have that correctly, in my fuzzy memory... Best regards, -a- Quote
