KLRDMD Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 I want to get some fellow Southern / Gulf Coast US Mooney owners on the site to rendezvous some where so we can start putting faces with the avatars. One I’m thinking of is the End of Season Stearman fly-in at Jennings LA (3R7) Saturday October 1 and October 2 it starts on a Thursday if anyone is interested. This would be a short 2 hour trip for many from Houston, Dallas, TX Little Rock AK, Jackson, MS Mobile, AL Louisiana and even some of our far western Florida folks. Nothing truly organized just some of us saying they will go. If there are some gamblers among us there is Marksville, LA (MKV) and the casino will come over and pick you up you can eat the buffet and or gamble. The link below is a site with a bunch of fly-ins listed. I have nothing to do with the site I just like it to find places to fly to and talk with other aviators. http://www.laflyins.com/ There are other events in MS and AL that are equally good. I’m open to suggestions. Quote

N601RX Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 The southeast regional (SERFI) is the 3rd weekend in October. They usually have around 300 planes as well as camping spots for travel trailers. It's in Evergreen, Alabama north of Mobile. www.serfi.org Quote

1964-M20E Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Becca It looks like you are about the same distance from Jennings as I am. I’m planning on getting there just around lunch Saturday October 1 assuming work does not raise its head too much. I’ll probably have to go in to work in the morning at least. I’ve never been to this one but I suspect that most people start leaving mid day or morning on Sunday. I’m not sure if I’m going to spend the night or not. Many years ago I camped out on Jennings airfield when I was in CAP. SEFRI looks good to me and my project at work should be finished by then. I’m going to look into Friday and Saturday nights for that one. Of course weather permitting. Quote
N601RX Posted October 3, 2011 Report Posted October 3, 2011 Just a reminder, the South East Regional Flyin is the 3rd weekend in October in Evergreen Alabama. Does anyone plan on attending? Saturday is the best day. www.serfi.org Quote
