Old Mooney on the Flight Line

So, after 3 nights fellowshipping with our Caravan family in the North 40, we're spending the rest of the week on the Flight Line! Come by and say hi during an airshow. Row 61. About the best seats on the field.

Hi Bob. I'm the guy who just bought the C and stopped by to see you on the flight line at Oshkosh yesterday.  it was great to meet you, see your beautiful E and get some insight into Mooneys! Looking forward to seeing you at future aviation and Mooney events!

Mark, great looking C! Nice to meet you as well. 

BTW, there's a Mooney Safety Foundation PPP at KMHT in September that you might want to check out. Details on the MAPA site. You will learn a great deal about flying and caring for your Mooney from excellent Mooney CFIIs.

+1 on the stutter.  It must be contagious, because ATC and sometimes me stumble on it.

I had a safety pilot during my IFR training who said she heard my number the first time a week before we first met.  Her immediate reaction was "What kind of idiot gives themselves a number like that?"

They sometimes stumble over my n-number as well.  But I like the N676N, same number in either direction!

You've got us confused, he was referring to his own tail number - he IS N676N... And I'M N6776N, and YES, they're BOTH palindromes.

A Louisiana tower controller, after stumbling on the number for the second time, asked me how much I paid to get that particular number (the implication was *why* would I want it?).  I told him I have a picture of its very first test flight in Kerrville Texas in 1968 with the Mooney factory in the background, and it plainly shows that she was born with that number.

It sometimes seems that 10% of the time my first call up is read back as Mooney5678Q.  That would have been much simpler.
