I think my King KI206 indicator crapped out. It just stopped working. The indicator powers up but that’s it. The receiver seems to work fine and it identifies the VOR strongly, so that’s why I am thinking it’s the indicator. Is there anyone that services these anymore?

Did the plug come loose? Do the flags still work? Does the GS still work? Does the needle move at all?

Ive fixed three of them That had the same problem. The coil in the movement is wrapped with yellow transformer tape. The adhesive eventually fails and the tape unwraps and jams the movement. You just need to disassemble the movement and snip off the offending tape with surgical scissors and put it back together.

I have heard that repair stations are not allowed to do that repair and new movements are not available.

Thanks for the reply. The flags are displayed but none of the needles move. I will check out the tape around the transformer.

The flags and needles all have separate movements. So if some of them work, most likely the demodulator works, it has power and the drive electronics all work.
