podair Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 what is this light for, if this is a light? M20F pilot footwell, looks like it is part of the airspeed switch (landing gear safety device, ie don't retract under a certain speed). Quote
rakesb Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 I believe it’s intended to simply illuminate to assist in viewing the fuel selector switch setting (on the floor under the pilot’s feet). 1 Quote
Yetti Posted February 20, 2018 Report Posted February 20, 2018 There is no lettering on the wire so it is not stock Mooney. Quote

carusoam Posted February 21, 2018 Report Posted February 21, 2018 I don’t remember anything in the POH detailing the fuel selector light... My M20C had one. I came across it while working on getting panel lights to dim properly... all the panel lights are grounded to a bolt near the fuel selector light. Looks similar to the gear lights on the panel in construction... does it have an iris twist control for dimming? Best regards, -a- Quote

asaxet Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Mine has one also.... was wondering.... now Im not... Thx.. Quote
0TreeLemur Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 Mine is really dim even with the iris fully open. Quote
luv737s Posted February 23, 2018 Report Posted February 23, 2018 If the 28 volt bulb is put in instead of the 14 volt it will be dim. Found wrong bulb in my mag compass when I first got it. Don’t know if that’s your problem. mike Quote

Yetti Posted February 25, 2018 Report Posted February 25, 2018 It's OK I got red panel lights and no one else did, so I am good. Quote
Pictreed Posted February 26, 2018 Report Posted February 26, 2018 Actual panel lights or those hot bullets on the overhead? Quote

If memory serves me well, panel lights were options. These are part of plastic overlays and controlled by rheostat overhead. My '67F has them... Quote
