Griffin avionics, Hyannis MA

I'm going to be in Hyannis MA a lot for work the next few years and as a result am looking for a proactive pirep on Griffin. Big Mooney sign outside, any experiences good or bad? Thanks in advance!

 I've used them and was pleased. They used to be very good at trouble shooting and repairing legacy avionics, particularly autopilots. I've heard they lost many of their key personnel though.

I had visited them once or twice while flying out of 5B6(Falmouth airpark) I probably bought a battery.

Being out on the cape gives some strange economics.  Could be good, could get expensive, depending....

I had them repair a damaged flap that was hit by a barrel. They did a fine job although they obviously sent the flap out to be reskinned and painted. I did have them check out a few other things and it got expensive pretty quickly. Wouldn't have an issue having them troubleshoot if you have any issues on the field. I fly to Hyannis from Chicago many times a year so maybe I'll see you over there.

Greg, although they are a full-service shop, their focus/strength is autopilots; and as Jack indicated, they have indeed lost a lot of that knowledge base over the last few years.

What kind of work are looking to have done?

Check out Sureflight at KMQS. Chris V is one of the best in the business when it comes to troubleshooting an autopilot, without just replacing a bunch of parts.
