Canadian smoke

I wish you Cannucks would keep your smoke north of the border.  Smoke from British Columbia wildfires spreading into Western Washington.

I agree. We're spending some time in Vancouver and the smoke here has helped keep the temperature several degrees below the forecast record highs. Much more comfortable today than we had expected, and not a problem since we're staying on land and water.

I have a quick flight up Vancouver Island tomorrow and will get some summer IMC time in this. According to PIREPS, tops were around 8500'.

The smoke adds a spooky red/orange glow to everything and has also made the temperatures more tolerable here in Victoria.

That interior cariboo region is miles upon miles of dead beetle killed lodgepole...lots of fuel...like hundreds of square miles of it.
