I am trying to set up a commercial ground school, to be held at Thunderbird Aviation at KFCM.  Let me start by saying that I am not a CFI nor connected to TBird.  I am a prospective student in the class.  The reason I am posting this is that the GA economy is tough enough that there are not alot of people looking to get a Commercial Rating at present, and I am trying to find a couple of other people to participate.

My personal objective is not becoming a Commercial Pilot in order to earn a living from aviation.  I already have a good day job.  My objective, rather, is to learn more.  Commercial goes more in depth than PP did, about aircraft, systems, weather, and particularly safety.  I want to go through the commercial course particularly for the extra safety procedures and the control over the aircraft.

It would be two nights a week for seven weeks, likely the class would be small enough that we would be able to work out the schedule with the instructor to suit ourselves.  I also intend to do what I can to make this a master level course.  On the agenda would be tours of the towers at KFCM and at KMSP. Price would probably be in the $300 - 400 range, much cheaper than doing it with an instructor one on one.

An IA is not a prerequisite for commercial.
