SantosDumont Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 (edited) I lost a couple fasteners and need to order them. First I need to figure out what cowl this is. Edited April 6, 2017 by SantosDumont
Guitarmaster Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 Maybe ARI. If I remember right, this plane was a one-off conversion. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
carusoam Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 (edited) The cowling probably is related to the engine that it is housing... If you have a six cylinder continental under there, look at M20K cowls... the two lights and air intakes are good identifiers... It should be in your log book. mooniac15u Posted April 6, 2017 Report Posted April 6, 2017 There should be a 337 form for that kind of change. It may have the information you're looking for.
SantosDumont Posted April 7, 2017 Author Report Posted April 7, 2017 Thanks. I think I figured out that I need a 2700-4s fastener and a AN526-1032R10 screw.
carusoam Posted April 7, 2017 Report Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Aircraft Spruce explains how fasteners get named by each of the manufacturers. It is common to have a couple of different lengths of the same fastener for going through one or two layers of sheetmetal. If you have the fastener, or one like it, you should be able to measure it up. Tell if it is SS. See if it is rounded or counter-sunk, that kind of thing.
