You will have to pause the video to see the info you want but this was taken at cylinder breaking after I put a new top end on my J. Everything firewalled in this video.

Hey thanks! What I'm trying to figure out is there anybody that is seeing their fuel flow and pressure perfectly steady or does it vary at all?

Joe,

FP and MAP are two measurements that are continuously changing because the flows are affected by opening and closing valves while the engine is running.  Something either mechanical or software driven can supply a useable average value.

EGTs can be quirky as well, as a flame front comes toward the sensor for a smal period of time compacted to the engine's cycle.

Some analog instruments handle this with a small calibrated hole placed in the line called a (? insert word here)

Bob, I believe, wrote how he worked with JPI to get this done.

many of the issues in modern computerized instruments get digitally averaged over a period of seconds.

Which instruments do you have?

Best regards,

I have the JPI EDM 700, JPI FS450 fuel scanner and stock tach and fuel pressure gauge.

I have had my fuel pressure gauge wander from 24 to 21 and my fuel flow wander up and

down around 0.4. Engine runs perfect. I did try a new fuel pump but no change. I guess I

just want to be sure this is normal.

See if you can post the JPI data...

one of the causes for funky FF data is problems with the sensor.  Often the problem is air leaking into the fuel line.

You can get the sensor washed out...  there is a thread or two around here regarding air leaks in the fuel selector valve area.

overall FF should be a really steady number.
