Great news !

I'm relatively recent owner and new to the world of SBs and STCs. Can this only be done by a MSC or can my local AP/IA do it as well (would they have to buy the kits from the MSC?)

Robert most items I've had done in the past is. syn vision, jepp chart etc was only available at an MSC. Plus I wouldn't trust anyone but a MSC to work on the G 1000 software.

Thanks Dan.

i've used a nearby avionics shop (VIP Avionics) for earlier work on my G1000 and was very pleased with them. They have a great reputation here in New England. In contrast, my one experience with a MSC (in Georgia) was very disappointing and I would never entrust that particular shop with my Mooney again, let alone with something as critical as the G1000.

I take it a buliten won't have a price associated with it.  Wonder if Dugosh has a price worked up?

Looks as if the STEC equipped planes will have WAAS approach certification but not autopilot coupling at this time: You'll have to hand fly WAAS approaches, perhaps with FD guidance.

A good start!
