Tommy Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Hi everyone! Not sure what the part is called. It's the bit that's spring loaded and locks onto the cowl flap. Need a replacement. Thanks guys! Tommy Quote

Hank Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 You mean they aren't just dzus fasteners? Spruce carries them. Quote

carusoam Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Just going with what the collected wisdom is so far... (I don't have cowling flaps and my C didn't have any hardware that fancy) https://www.auveco.com/product/ball.html a place to buy what CNOE posted... http://www.dixied.com/product3507.html or if you need to buy without fear that it is the right one... Sherri at LASAR..... LASAR.com http://www.lasar.com/about/contact.asp Best regards, -a- I'm fairly certain this item matches up exactly with the broken part removed from my M20. To confirm you can call McMaster and request the OEM part number for the item (isn't shown on website). I just hate seeing people overpay for "stock" items. I love LASAR for Mooney specific parts and "advice" but they probably won't beat McMaster at $5.10. 2 Quote

My originals were just plated-steel so I went with those again, but I'm a fan of SS. Either of these should work fine. And the best part is that when you disconnect the cowl flaps no longer do you have to chase the spring and sleeve as they bounce across the hangar floor! Quote
jetdriven Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 If you can round up all the parts you can put it together and peen the edges of the inner part or,the collar. That's how it's made but over time the peened over edge wears off and it comes apart. Quote
Tommy Posted August 22, 2016 Author Report Posted August 22, 2016 Just received an email from McMaster and they don't ship internationally unless I am one of the reputable traders! Anyone has got a spare one hanging around? Happy to pay for everything of course! Thanks! Quote

DonMuncy Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 If you run out of viable options, I would be glad to order one from McMaster and send it to you. However, figure in the time and cost for two shippings. 1 Quote
