oil pressure issues? like the engine quit and he had no where to make an emergency landing, or he started to lose oil pressure and just pulled the chute?

I think the chute is a great last resort safety item, but not as a replacement for piloting skills. once that chute is pulled you become a passenger with no control of where you end up.

when does the parade of cirrus bashers show up? did I miss it?

if I could afford it I'd have a 22T like, yesterday.

Yup they had a band and everything.  KaZoo's, Clowns, and BBQ meat on the power lines.  Quite a show.  Nothing like the smell of charred flesh to get the 'ol appetite goin'.

Ryan,

Take a look at the new composite fuselage bits.  See if they are contemplating adding that feature along the way.

two straps would need to come out forwards, and one or two towards the rear...

This is mere speculation in my part.

Best regards,

I have had 2 forced landings (lost cylinders) over the years including 1 that involved an ILS.  You aren't much more than a passenger when the engine quits or stumbles and a great deal of your success depends on where you are when it quits more than anything else.  I fly a SR22 about 50hrs a year and if it quit, odds are I am pulling the chute.  People die with chutes because they think they have better options than they really do and by the time they figure out they should have pulled the chute it is too late.

I would rather defend myself after chute pull about how I am a lousy but living pilot, versus being dead and not able to answer the Monday morning quarterbacks.

I do believe that in all others ways the M20J is the superior aircraft, so here I am.

Do you have a retractable step and a cigar lighter?

Most lsa come with this. How long till Mooney does?

It 's actually pretty surprising I don't see it as at least an option on the new Mooney models, particularly the emerging all composite ones. Puts them at a clear market disadvantage.

The new Mooney Ultras are not "all composite," only the fuselage. The wing and tail are the same as ours.

Nah, wouldn't really fit my mission and no one would insure me in the damn thing. The new eclipse looks sweet with auto throttles but the care and upkeep would probably be a lot even if I could afford the plane. And the insurance again.

Now a tbm 850.....
