Barnstormers has an overhauled one for sale, but it's a little pricy for us cheap bastards. Glade to here another aircraft being resurrected instead of scraped.

I assume this is the same plane: If it hit a snowbank hard enough to bend internal steering components I could imagine it had a prop strike as well. 1

The project has been long and expensive, much more than I expected. I should have the interior finished in a couple of weeks. Considering I'm an A&P and I have done all the work, I'll have about 20 grand more invested than I can sale it for. If I ever have to repaint my blue and white C, I will use pix of yours as the template. Almost wish current paint wasn't in such good shape
Alan Fox Posted May 29, 2016 Author Report Posted May 29, 2016 Ok , I think from careful examination of the parts , the steering/rudder jackshaft failed , and this caused the accident , It should be of concern to owners of these legacy aircraft.....It is enough of a problem , that Lasar makes a beefed up version of the part...... The replacement I used was the beefed up version.... 1
