Parker_Woodruff Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 I'm out in Fort Lauderdale on business and saw this while visiting a client. Interesting round thing protrudingfrom the top, the back of the tail has a wierd curviture, and it looks like maybe a modified fairing between the fusalage and the vertical stabilizer?
Ron McBride Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Parker Its a 70 or maybe a 71 Mooney Aerostar. They had the upper stinger and extened rudder. These were for a couple of years at the most. Many have had the stingers removed. Ron

docket Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 It looks good on the Aerostar but it looks like it is grafted on the Mooney.

fullforward Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 I have bought a fully modified 66 Super 21 and it has this funny tail and every loPresti mod there is out there. I dont believe its the tail, but I am doing 170 kts true at 75% in FL65 (redlining it almost at 160 IAS). Maybe I get a picture attached to this message:
