N3417X Posted March 27, 2016 Report Posted March 27, 2016 I have an M20E, with a full 201 conversion (A3B6D and cowling). I recently majored the engine, prop, and replaced the motor mounts and I'm still experiencing a very high frequency vibration in both the rudder pedals and yokes. Is this normal? Would dynamically balancing my prop help? Quote

Seth Posted March 28, 2016 Report Posted March 28, 2016 My prop was not balanced correctly after overhaul. Dynamically balancing it 70 hours later made a HUGE difference. Should have done it after only a few hours. -Seth Quote
jclemens Posted March 29, 2016 Report Posted March 29, 2016 Dynamic prop balancing will make your plane noticably smoother in almost any case. The only time it won't is if I just balanced it and you take it somewhere else to get it rebalanced, making it worse Quote
Cardinal767 Posted April 5, 2016 Report Posted April 5, 2016 This video was taken in cruise flight just after I had the prop overhauled, now to have it dynamically balanced. IMG_0106.MOV Quote
