The airplane nuts who work at AOPA will be joining the Keystone Fliers for lunch in Smoketown, PA (S37).

New Years Fly-Out Smoketown, PA Start the New Year out right by FLYING
You are cordially invited to fly our VFR New Years Fly-Out to Smoketown
This is an annual tradition....last year we had nearly 30 folks join us for lunch at Smoketown Who: All pilots, friends and kids of all ages - and tell your pilot buddies
What: Annual Fly-Out to crack open the logbooks. When: 1 Jan of the coming New Year. What time: All rally at the Smoketown FBO at 1200. MUST BE VFR

It'd be great to see some Mooney drivers come out and support the Keystone flyers too.

Nice George! My mechanic was based there for years. Will try to make it out.

As George points out, it is VFR. There is no Smoketown instrument approaches but ingenious pilots have figured out the approaches to runway 31 at KLNS will take you right over the airport. Not sure how I knew that.

Also, S37 runway is sloped a little (uphill on 28) and is a bit shorter than some of you have flown.

Here's a video of me landing at S37 (visiting the paint shop).  Note the big power adjustment on final for 28 as I thought there was a telephone wire as an obstruction.   There isn't as the wire runs to the ground.  Hopefully there won't be a lawnmower at this time of year.

Runways a bit shorter than your average in NE but as you can see there's plenty of space for a Mooney.... And I'm no short field yoda.

Have fun
