Marauder Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Any of you that have already created a checklist want to share it with me so this Lazy Bum won't have to make one from scratch? I see in the App that a share option of some sort is available! thanks in advance Just PMd you the information to use mine. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
Shadrach Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 I used it at high altitude. It never crashed or lost position data, but it did drop alt and speed several times. I opened FlyQ in parallel which did not seem to suffer the same issues. I'm going over to Foreflight when my FlyQ subscription expires. 1 Quote
Browncbr1 Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I have been talking to the nice folks at fltplan.com. They are about to release a new version probably next week as soon as Apple approves it. Meanwhile, they already submitted a second update to Apple that should be available to the public in about 3 weeks. fltPlan Go will have AHRS split screen on the second update! Quote

Fltpln Go has been silently creeping up on the market leaders. I hated the first versions because of the speed of updating. Still not super fast but much improved. They added checklists and other features along the way and have an open hierarchy for interfacing with receivers. If they cleaned up the GUI a bit, I think they can start taking market from the gorillas. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote

One of the attributes my mother always beat into me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Can you create a checklist on fltplan using a PC and access it using fltplan go the cell phone? Quote
Marauder Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 Yes, I think that is how I created mine. I think if you use my N number you can download mine as a starting point for yours. 1 Quote
FlyDave Posted November 26, 2015 Report Posted November 26, 2015 I've been using fltplan.com for years for flight planning. I've been using fltplanGO as a backup EFB and checklists for about 1 year. They are great products and still free (I hope this doesn't change). But on the android app (less so on the iPad app) they come out with updates (I think more bug fixes) sometimes 4 times a week. I think they need to spend a little more time doing code reviews and QA. I'm not complaining as this app costs me nothing and is fairly feature rich. But if I were to use it as my primary EFB, less frequent updates would make me more comfortable with this product. Garmin Pilot is my primary EFB - which could use a GUI revamp as well. Quote

Yes , all features integrate across platforms. You can plan on PC and it automatically populates your iPad or phone with everything and visa versa. 1 Quote

Weather via Internet works pretty good up to about 8,000ft. On recent flights noticed that cell phone connectivity at 10,000 has improved. I was able to text and read email with minimum delay. I dropped my XM subscription in favor of Internet WX. José Jose-. I lowered my XM subscription to the lowest Marine subscription of $10 per month. It has nearly all the aviation data the mid aviator package has and more importantly the big picture. For $10 per month I'm happy to have dual weather sources should my Straus not connect or run out of battery. If phone signal is your supply, you may want to consider "Skywatch" which I think is the name for the least expensive marine plan. -Seth Quote
