gsengle Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Help, Anyone had to fix a TKS stall strip that was detaching? I'm waiting to hear back from Mooney, but I'm sure someone here has had to deal with this? (its hard to search for TKS here, because you can't search for three character search terms) Here is a photo. Is this a big deal or an easy fix? thanks, Greg Quote
carusoam Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Anti ice stall strip tks... http://mooneyspace.com/topic/15232-tks-woes/?hl=%2Bstall+%2Bstrip These in the search box will provide some more clues for what you are looking for. Funny thing, the echo I got was appropriate, but based on the word 'install', not what I was asking for... Unfortunately, MS is unable to search three letter words... Best regards, -a- Quote
gsengle Posted July 13, 2015 Author Report Posted July 13, 2015 Cool - thanks. Also, Mooney got back to me blazingly quickly, thanks Stacey! I'm attaching the procedure - the Redux 420 is no longer available, you use CS3204-B2 sealer. And I should be very very happy that I didn't lose the $1000+ strip in flight... MB65E Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 Anyone use Hysol on the strips yet? I'm not sure what Redux is but sounds similar to Hysol. -Matt Quote
FoxMike Posted July 13, 2015 Report Posted July 13, 2015 I just had that repair done at CAV at New Century (Kansas City). The original glue dries out. CAV knows what to use- PRC product. They put out a letter which explains the procedure so others can do this in the field. Do not lose the strip replacements are $800.00. If you break the little tube feeding the strip you will have to replace the panel. I taped mine in place for the trip. Don't let just anyone mess with this a screwup could really get costly. Quote
