I've been watching this little guy since it first was announced. Has come down in price quite a bit too.

Any opinions? I thought there was a thread on it but can't seem to be able to find it.

Remarkably it's DAL level A. The Trilogy is only level C!

Certifications:

FAA TSO certified to C2d, C3e, C4c, C10b, C106, C113a, C179a

RTCA DO-178B and DO-254 Design Assurance Level (DAL) A

RTCA DO-160 qualified

Here are the L3 Trilogy Certifications:

TSO-C2d, TSO-C4c, TSO-C6d, TSO-C10b, TSO-C113, TSO-C106

Hardware: DO-254, Level C

Software: DO-178B, Level B

Love it! Battery backup works better than advertised, I pulled the circuit breaker to test it. The screens are bright with a matt finished and the frame is aluminum, excellent quality. The Baro setting transfers from my G500 or similar but can be entered independently. If your replacing the standard 3 pack then you will save a lot of space but they will have to fab a cover plate for the new shape.

The Sandia Quattro with essentially the same utility as the SAM is supposed to sell in the $3000-$3500 range and should be delivering in the next few months.  Of course Sandia has been saying "the next few months" for a couple years it seems.  This does seem to be on track for real production.

Unless I am missing something, I don't know who will purchase the SAM or Trilogy once the Quattro is selling.  This said, what are you looking to get for the SAM Alan?

I would say in the area of 75% of wholesale 5500 to 6000 dollars.... Keep in mind that is new (Basically we have a coupon to redeem it from MCIC  (mid continent) )  As far as waiting for Sandia ,it is entirely possible that they will be cheaper , but I have Been flying with ADS-B out almost  2 years now , and most people are still waiting.....  Sometimes its better to pay a little more , than wait..... I also don't believe that Sandia will have a unit for 3500.00   Sandia makes high quality goods and they are priced accordingly .....

Spruce and other venders are currently selling the Sandia Quattro for $2995 (list price is $3595).  It was supposed to hit the market in May; don't know what happened.  Certainly things could be delayed again and again.

The Quattro is otherwise a $3,000 version of a product that Dynon sells for $1000.  Once the Quattro is shipping I have to assume that SAM and Trilogy sales will essentially stop to us small piston guys.
