Which parts do I need to mount my compass on the post?

When I have the single piece windshield installed in my 65C I lose the metal frame that my new Airpath is screwed into.

I currently have the squarish housing and want to switch to the round one for better visibility.

This is the mount I think I need.

This is the compass I have now. It's a panel mount that screws into a bracket hooked to the center post.

When I did that, I made my own bracket out of 1/8 inch aluminum. Painted it black and attached it with brass hardware.

The real deal is the same as what is in my 201. The part you show is the correct part. There is an aluminum channel that goes against the post to stabilize it. You can make one or get it from Laser. You will need to do something to make the light wires look better.

Fuzzy memory from my 65C...

Expect to...

(1) adjust the angle between the tube and the compass mount slightly.

(2) add some vibration absorption material or loosen the screws.

One other thing Ryoder.

Depending on the compass you have that housing may need to be altered. You may need to remove that lip in order for the compass to seat properly in the housing and be able to secure with screw in the back.

Get a utility knife with brand new sharp blades and cut carefully.

Tilt the blade inward slightly for a nice clean incision. No sawing back and forth! It is plastic and will cut easily but can get mangled easily too! Take your time!
