I tried a quick search on this but didn't see what I was looking for:

Has anyone installed this? If so, any reviews? I know that your 530/430W software has to be in the 3.3 ish range to be compatable... Is this program dead in the water (due to Garmin and their flight stream) or is it pretty cool?

Dead? I don't know, but I'd be surprised if they are still selling it. You'd have to keep the GNS firmware at a level that does not meet ADS-B Out location requirements for one, and you wouldn't be able to utilize the improved capabilities available for advisory VNAV and many more.

Flightstream though is really cool and really helps to modernize our GNS navigators adding airways and would have hit a home run IMHO if they had just integrated the GDL 39 capabilities into it. But they claim you can interface an Android or IOS device to both simultaneously.

Connected panel basically looks to have the same capability as flightstream, except that it worked with Foreflight and other ipad programs instead of just garmin's pilot. It also allows (ed) you to change radio frequencies from your iPad/iPhone. The long pole in the tent was the garmin data stream encryption, I think. I'm just wondering if anyone has used it before or knows it's status.

Connected Pilot is still sold but it has limitations with the GNS series (won't allow cross-feed) and won't work with the GTN series.

I think Aspen has given up on trying to work with Garmin and has been concentrating their efforts with other open hierarchy supporting companies like Bendix King (and their mothership Honeywell) and Avidyne. Connected Pilot is offered as an integral part of the Honeywell Apex system found in the Pilatus.

It is a real shame Garmin is not playing with the others.
