Quick question- IO360 pushrod tube retaining spring.  One or Two per shroud.  I've seen both and someone suggested there was a SB from Lycoming but I can't find it.

thanks

Good Question! I think I used 2 on each. I want to say the gasket/overhaul kit I think has enough for two on each tube. I don't think 1 has enough spring pressure to stay put. If your putting it back together today and need an answer, 2 can't hurt...

I always did two, but it is so hard to get them in place and they chew up the tubes, the last time I put it together I just did one and it went together so much easier. I haven't had any leaks sense I did one.

Thanks for the feedback.   I did two where the pressure seemed reasonable but on two shrouds I backed off to one.  Hoping for zero leaks.  Thanks again.

Lycoming also has 2 different styles of pushrod tubes for the angle valve engine.  The new style is formed from a single piece of aluminum including the ears that the spring plates push against. the older style had the ears welded on and sometimes crack or break off.
