Hi,

I am int he process of installing a EDM900 in my 231. As the shunt is a pita to access I try to find out whether the shunt is a 50mV or 100mV type. Does anybody know which one it is?

Thank you very much in advance!

The older F's used a 60mv shunt, so I had to use the one supplied with the 900. You should be able to turn on a couple of higher current devices like pitot heat and landing light and measure the voltage across the shunt. From that it will be easy to tell if it is a 50 or 100mv shunt.

The maintenance manual says it' s a MS91586-1.

I found a webpage from Deltec. They offer it in 50 and 100mV...

The airframe is from 1980 - sorry, should have mentioned it.

The panel is already disassembled - so no chance to power it up :-(

From the only parts book I have that may be similar, use for ideas...

The 67E....

Probably 12V and 60 amp system...???

Figure 50-H shows the shunt...

Part number...

22-370-60

No more detail than that....

The wiring drawing shows a square...

Trying to be helpful with what I have....

Best regards,

See this resource...http://www.sigmatek.com/pages/prod_description/PD_ACC_shunt.html

From this resource you can discern that the -60 is a 50mV device...

Searching on your part number, I found this...

MKA-30-50 MSA300 MS91586-1 30

From this site...

http://www.deltecco.com/MKA-DC.html

The -50 for the alt part number indicates 50mV

Share this with your mechanic, I am just guessing out loud....
