Ftlausa Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Filled up at Airglades (Florida) this morning for $3.83. Beat the heck out of the $6.80 they wanted at FXE. Quote
ryoder Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 aviatoreb its over five at other Tampa airports. The airport closest to me wants 6.50 for their gas. I drive past it on the way to Zephyrhills and a few more Metallica songs later and I am at my home base with 55 dollar per hour mechanics 30 dollar per hour CFIs and 3.60 for gas and 250 a month for a t hangar. I love this airport. Quote

bonal Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 Finally got to fly again but had to spend 5.77 but worth every penny. Quote
ryoder Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 Yeah 30 bucks for an independent CFII MEI. Quote
Mooneymite Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 $4.09 KDKX. Been trending down steadily. I expect under $4 soon! There's lots to like at Island airport. The cheap fuel is just one more benefit. Quote
carusoam Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 That's a lot of Metalica..? Gas price is dropping every day in Nj.. $2.40s. Regular cash price. 100LL will be weeks or months behind... Quote
chrisk Posted December 20, 2014 Report Posted December 20, 2014 I just paid $3.55 for fuel at KGTU. And since folks didn't believe it last time (since airnav had an old price) I attached the evidence. Quote

ryoder Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 It is now 3.45 for residents at KZPH and my destination for my next flight is only 3.39! I am flying to St Augustine next week to take some photos of some beach front property for my father in law. I was pleasantly surprised to also find a super close nearby airport with cheap gas and a seaplane base. Quote

I'm only around 15 miles north of St. Augustine and I typically refuel there. I have not seen $3.37 in a very long time. I jokingly told a friend of mine this morning "they are practically giving it away" well not quite, but it's very easy to get overly exited about fuel for $3.37 a gallon Quote
carusoam Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 I wish Cosco could sell Avgas... $2.05 per gallon, cash price for regular mogas, membership required... Is anyone's business or personal income negatively effected by this rapid price change? I know a couple of us are in the energy business. This may effect them... I am wondering who else may be caught out? Anyone have a feeling of how long it can stay down ? It looks like horizontal drilling is having a huge effect on OPEC... Or is it OPEC is having an effect on horizontal drilling? Best regards, -a- Quote

ryoder Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 It's not the twilight zone because the guys doing helicopter training want 350 per hour. Just talked with them the other day. Quote

M016576 Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 3.75... I wish... I noticed the price at our FBO dropped down to 4.77 last week... I immediately had them top off my tanks (about 70 gallons, since I had 30 already in there). I guess that was my best attempt at "fuel hedging" after a year and a half of $6+ gallon fuel across the pacific NW. Honestly, I'm pretty impressed with the FBO dropping its price as quickly as it did. Gotta love that free market economics. Quote
RocketAviator Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 Anyone know how one might buy avgas on futures? At 3.75 I might be in for one or a couple thousand gallons! Quote
