rbridges Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 I saw that in a magazine a year or two ago. Looks like a blast. Stupid question--do you need a multi rating to fly it? Quote
N601RX Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Yes, there was a someone down in Florida offering a Multi Engine rating in them for around 1K. That was a few years ago and he was booked up. I'm not sure if he is still in business or not. Quote

Wow those sure look like fun. Quote

I'm sure the insurance company would have something to say about that in the form of a lot of dual. The Aircam is an experimental and for many year you were not allowed to rent them. The EAA got that changed several years ago so that builders could rent a plane like they we're build and receive training in it before injuring themselves trying to learn to fly their own plane. If I remember correctly you can't rent one for your private, but other training is ok. I think I remember reading the aircam guy saying the operating cost was only about $35 hr. 1964-M20E Posted April 14, 2014 Report Posted April 14, 2014 Got a close up look at one during SnF pretty interesting. A fun toy to play with if you have the extra $. Quote
