mooniac58 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Hello mooniacs! I have a question for anyone who might know the answer... I upgraded to a SkyTech lightweight starter and need to adjust the W&B - does anyone know from experience what the moment would be of the starter? Thanks! Craig Quote
Jeff_S Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Weight x Arm = Moment, does it not? Assuming the Arm didn't change from the prior starter, there's your answer. But all that should be in the documentation for the starter and should have been completed by the A/P who installed it, I would think. Quote
roundout Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Call Stacey Ellis or Brian Kendrick on Monday. Quote
danb35 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 The arm on a J should be the same as on an F, -23". Not sure about the weight, though. Quote
mooniac58 Posted May 22, 2010 Author Report Posted May 22, 2010 Sorry, I wanted to know the ARM to determine the moment. I did see in my POH equip list it groups the engine, starter and alternator into one group with an arm of -15.76". Quote
Immelman Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 The airplane's type certificate data sheet has this information. You can download it from faa.gov. Edit: Its -23.0" for the J per the TCDS, but check for yourself Quote
