Quick turn in Atlanta area

Plan to drop off a student Sunday, who will be heading for MARTA in Atlanta.  I have no recent experience in the Atlanta area, and currently planning to use Epps at KPDK.  Is there a better alternative?

If you plan to use MARTA, then PDK is your best (only?) choice.  Epps is probably the most "single engine friendly" FBO at PDK, but expect some sort of fee/minimum fuel purchase.

When you land, tell ground you want to taxi to the self-serve avgas area....it is located up the hill past Epps.  You can deplane your passenger, and if you need fuel, buy the cheapest fuel at PDK....or buy no fuel.

 

Your passenger will have about an easy 1/2 mile walk to the Chamblee MARTA station, but he'll be on his own.

 

Otherwise, use Epps and ask for a van.

Have always had a good experience flying in to KPDK.

I think I had to pay $20 last time I picked up a passenger at Epps (I didn't buy gas).  The facility is ok and the people were nice.

I used to use Atlantic, but used Epps most recently due to their gas prices. Both were $20/night. Nothing negative to say about either.

Epps was fine, and apparently they discount their fuel $0.40/G on Sunday (weekends?).  Was posted at $6.65, but I was charged $6.25/gal, not exactly cheap but competitive for close in Atlanta and MARTA access.  Ramp fee ($20) wavier with 20 min fuel purchase.
