fantom Posted January 4, 2014 Report Posted January 4, 2014 Dave reports the last event at Flagler was attended by 10 Mooney's and 25 people, all enjoying good company, good food, and lots of aviation talk. Our next event will be the 10th Anniversary of the Florida Mooney Lunch Group. We will meet at Leesburg (LEE) at the EAA Hanger, just west of the FBO. The local EAA chapter will cook lunch for us, and desert will be provided by Sunair, the FBO. The Chapter will probably be looking for a donation of 5 or 6 dollars per person, for lunch. Cheap, even by Mooney standards. In February, the weekend after our Mooney Lunch in Sebring, there will be a MAPA Pilot Proficiency Program in Melbourne, FL, so lots to choose from. Future events are on the second Saturday of the month, starting at 11:30am. Future Schedule: January 11,The tenth anniversary of the Florida Mooney Lunch Group will be hosted by EAA Chapter 534 of Leesburg (LEE). They will cook lunch for us in their hanger. February 8, Sebring (SEF) March 8, Fort Pierce (FRP) April 12, Flagler (XFL). Dave requests that you e-mail him by Thursday night to let him know if you plan on making it to LEE, so he can give the EAA an estimated head count. Of course no one is obligated to attend if things change. Hope to see you somewhere soon. I promise to try to attend, and will attempt to have a surprise visitor with me. Quote
triple8s Posted January 9, 2014 Report Posted January 9, 2014 Wow that Paint scheme looks so right on a Mooney. Too bad the predator didn't win out over the beech. Quote
fantom Posted January 10, 2014 Author Report Posted January 10, 2014 Wow that Paint scheme looks so right on a Mooney. Too bad the predator didn't win out over the beech. That is a long story that we discussed here some time ago. It wasn't a Beech that got the contract, and Mooney only got involved at the last minute, throwing the Predator together with basically spare parts. Let's get a lot of MooneySpace folks to Leesburg tomorrow. It isn't freezing, no ice, the WX should be VFR, and you neither have to be a member of AOPA, nor need an AoA installed, to attend. 2 Quote
FloridaMan Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Well, I made it...finally, although I don't know what any of you look like so I grabbed a couple burgers, talked to some folks at the table, watched the presentation and flew back to Tampa. Quote

carusoam Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Antares, Post a picture of your plane in place of your current avatar. This way people can recognize you! This is usually advice from Gary. You've probably heard it already... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
fantom Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 No one showed? Sent from my overpriced iPad using Tapatalk No, some did. A 60% chance for TS will suppress attendance in Florida. Just like a partially obscured sky, or a 30% chance for rain will do to you northeast guys. Quote
Tony__L Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 I was there. I caught a ride from Tampa (Peter O Knight) with a local Mooney owner that Dave put me in touch with. I was in the US on holiday, visiting from South Africa. It was fantastic to see so many Mooney's in one place. The event was also a celebration of Dave's flying career. He received an FAA award for 50 years of safe flying. Impressive and a really nice chap. Tony Ho hum . . . 1 Quote
