Bryanmooney
Last Friday I was flying from East Tennessee (JAU) to Charleston Executive. As I approached VFR I cancelled my flight following and landed at Charleston Executive. Right after I landed a jet took off. Once on the ground my buddy picked me up and said it was Joe Gibbs the race car owner departing. After looking at Flightaware it looks like they gave my code to Gibb's jet and he headed up to VA for the race weekend. Might be off base here but I thought it was interesting to see how Flightaware didnt pickup the change in aircraft and how far the jet flew in about 50 minutes compared to how far I got in 2 hours. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N6956V Anyhow, I thought it was interesting. On a later note I had to leave the plane for weather as the muck moved in last Monday.
Bob_Belville
In my experience you can't count on Flightaware for low altitude, general aviation data.
Jsavage3
It's always showed up very accurately for me as long as I was on an IFR flight plan...VFR, not so accurate...
