  1. Andrew sold his G over a year ago and went to a K. I think he sold his G in USA because he retained his tail letters for the K. Yves
  2. Byron, if you go again in Kingston this summer, park at the Kingston flying club instead of the FBO. That is where I park when I go there. There is no ramp fee. If you spend time overnight, there might be some costs but a local folk reported something like $10 I fly there a few times a year... the city happens to have my favorite restaurant. Ned and I went there about a month ago (and yes we did it in formation) with the wives... the attending flying club young instructor was very friendly. If you plan to spend several days around that area there is also Smith's Falls airport. If I recall correctly their policy for parking is free if you stay less than 30 days. This is the friendliest GA airport I know about. Contact me if you need more info. Yves
  3. Are you going to play Banjo again at Pedro's? Yves
  4. One risk you have to consider if you want to develop such an app is liability. Xavion had to raise their price for their app at some point to cover their newer expensive liability insurance policy. Nowadays, when someone dies in a crash, the family will sue everyone that touched the airplane from near or far in order to collect money. And this is true regardless of any displayed warning saying "use at your own risk"... family members don't click on that OK button nor do they care. Yves
  5. Have not seen anything recent about this here. I guess COPA would let its members know if ever there would be policy changes around this. Yves
  6. Just got the COPA (Magnes) quote. It is $100 more than Marsh. Awaiting for EAA Canada now. Will post results when I get it. Is there other brokers I should contact? Yves
  7. Houman, put them on youtube if you can and post the links here :-) Yves
  8. I just got my renewal quote and I am not happy. $200 more than last year. I will ask for quotes from other brokers. Might just be caused by weak Canadian dollar. Yves
  9. Get 3 quotes... I am with Marsh Canada. They are the cheapest for me. Yves
  10. Looks like several member's pictures are messed up? Is it only me seing this? Yves
  11. Great work folks. Looking forward to meet you all in Madison in July. Yves
  12. If you look at the graph, there is only one instance of that speed... looks more like a bad measurement or glitch! Yves
  13. In Canada, we have prop overhaul mandatory every ten years. It is a PIA and adds several AMU when due. It use to be every five. Our pilot association got it bumped to ten at some point. Yves
  14. Houman, try this RNAV approach in Mirabel in GPS mode. (will show LPV) If the glide slope needle is active it means there is something wrong with either the glide slope antenna (or weak reception) or the receiving part of the unit as mentionned by others. If it does not move then the wiring to the HSI or the HSI itself is defective. Yves
  15. More than once I had american controllers completely mess my tail "letters". A year and a half ago they even messed my aircraft type. I was flying an experimental according to flightaware on that leg. Must be my strong Quebec accent. Yves
  16. Horses don't ride fast enough. Yves
  17. Thanks for the pictures Ned and Ute. Yves
  18. Try doing your training when it is not bumpy. Yesterday must have been bumpy in Montreal with all that sun. Very early or late shall be better. Yves
  19. Two ideas: Check the log book, the previous mech shall have listed it there when he wrote what he did last oil change.. if not in there, open the cowling and take a peek. Yves
  20. Mine is put left bottom side of the back passenger window. See in the middle of the following picture. It will not peel off on its own but I manage to remove old ones using my nails. Yves P.S. I prefer to stick it on the plane. This way I am sure I will not misplace it.
  21. I only see version 6.8.1 on App Store. Where did you get it from? Yves
  22. Each year, the Mooney Caravan receive gifts from sponsors and make a draw among the participants. Last year I won a set of brand new Tempest spark plugs and two years ago I won a set of Goodyear Custom III tires. I do not recall having such a lucky streak ever. Yves
  23. Cowboy, if you are lucky like I am, wait a bit... maybe you'll win some nice Tempest plugs in Oshkosh as part of the Mooney Caravan. The ones I won were installed last summer and run great! Yves
  24. Becca, are you coming to Oshkosh again? Are you coming to Kingston again? Yves
