  1. Thanks for the update. I am also looking at these fuel senders. I was told that if I replaced my fuel senders with the Cies ones I had to send my JPI to the factory. So I decided not to do it. But if that is not the case let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. As Jerry mentioned in his response the 210 has an AHRS, but the 510 allows you to update your navdata from your iPad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I installed bladders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. M20C, with 64 gal of fuel. 500 lbs with full tanks. Range 6 hours with reserve. More than that... ? I don't know...I did it once going from key west to Guatemala City, but it was tough on my back part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have one in my panel. I really like it. It integrates my 795, with my GTNs and my ipad. What I do is I have the map and my route shown on my 750, traffic or stormscope on my 650 and nexrad weather on my 795. I use the iPad for metar and approach plates and to modify the route. The 210 also provides me with a back up AHRS, although I find that I have to reset it each time I fly. It is amazing how far we have gotten... had somebody told me in 1993 when I started to use my first GPS what would happen in just 20 years, I would have had a hard time believing it. 6. Basically, I concur with your description. At lease in my M20C. Of course your description fits ideal light wind conditions. But it is a starting point from which you have to adapt to the existing conditions. I got used to use my AOA indicator in conjunction with my ASI and that has helped tremendously.
  7. I started flying with ADSb in and out since I got back to the US about two years ago. I really like it. First weather, you get weather for free...this has allowed me to embark on trips that otherwise I may have had to postpone due to my fear of running into something. Also, second it is great to see the Metars for your airport and if needed for others around the area. It makes flying so much easier and safer. Last but not least, flying back from Oshkosh as soon as I was over the lake on an IFR flight plan I was asked are you able to go direct, i said yes and I was given Gaithersburg direct (500 miles), i dialed it into my 750 and voila! No deviations until I got close and I flew the RNAV 14... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you got it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Do you mind sending it by email to me please... oavalle@gmail.com Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Yes, that would be great. I used an in ear headset for a while but the inserts never felt comfortable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am putting together a video of the Mooney caravan can you send me your video clips by email to oavalle@gmail.com. Thanks!
  12. Not yet. I have some footage, but I have to edit the stuff. Had no time to do it. After Oshkosh my wife basically said enough airplanes for a while... let's go to the beach. So I arrived today in Cancun. I hope to be able to edit some stuff, while hanging out here.
  13. wow that was fast! yes, my vacuum pump had died as soon as I took off to come back to the US....talking about caravan... 5A7FF7F4-B201-4B45-A31C-F6BE0C71FB65.MP4
  14. Thank you... now I fly in the US Northeast and my videos are from the Mooney Caravan...also spectacular. Also, let's see how detail oriented you guys are... what is wrong with my Panel picture?
  15. I have used contours, GoPro and Garmin's. I really like the contours. They are small, have good video quality and you can mount them on the tail. However, their battery life is relatively short (1.5 to 2 hours). I did not like the Go Pros. The ones I used had the old menu structure. I really thought they were cumbersome to say the least. Also their battery life was very short. Garmin, I used the first VIRBs (black and the the white one) and the latest generation (the one that looks like a GoPro but in red). I really like the White VIRBs the best. They video quality is great, battery life is adequate (2 to 2.5 hours). Editing is key! I use Final Cut Pro. I agree with the 3 and 5 seconds rule... 16. Well, let me share with you some ideas. I strongly believe that what matters is what is behind the yoke, not necessarily what is in front of it. I have own a M20C for several years and I did quite a lot of cross country travel, domestic and international. Over mountains, over the Gulf of Mexico, you name it. I am even thinking of flying to Europe... I agree my M20C is not the fastest Mooney around but it takes me safely to where I want to go. At no point in time I felt my that something was missing, or that my M20C was not up to the task. Would I like to have a M20J with all the gadgets I have in mine, yes, I would love to and hopefully I will, but that is not a necessary condition for me to continue flying 500miles+ trips in my Mooney. Upgrades, I did a lot of upgrades to my plane. Aspen, GTN, autopilot etc. did it make sense? I guess not from a financial perspective, but again I feel safe and that is what matters to me. So don't listen that that M20F driver... just concentrate on making what is behind the joke as professional as possible and you will be OK. Oscar
  17. My temperatures are always around 175 to 180, regardless of the OAT. My issue is keeping the CHTs in line. Oscar
  18. I flew into Oshkosh for the first time myself (last time in 1998 I flew right seat). I decided to arrive in style and luckily the guys and girls from the Mooney Caravan allowed me (after a very thorough check out) to join them. It was not an easy task to change my habits to stay away from other planes... I had not to get closer and closer, without hitting the lead ship (Big NO NO...). I had a really hard time. But at the end, I was able to do it and I had great fun. Actually fun. In reality fun began after we landed and set up our temporary home. First debrief...then later in the evening a Mooneyspace Pizza night. Great opportunity to put a face to our virtual friends. Next day after Mooney sponsored breakfast, let's check out the place, in particular the Mooney stand, where they are showing a brand new Ovation Ultra... (lottery... you never know...). Very nice plane, and the Mooney folks were very welcoming. Of course I also went to check out the other guys (Cessnas, Cirrus, Piper, Diamond, you name it). It was great to see that things are moving. Caravan barbecue was also great (It seems that I may be in charge next year, so I will have to try to at least get to the same level... Unfortunately, there is no Argentine meat around to make a real barbecue... so we will settle to get most likely shaved pork (btw delicious...)). More plane talk, more planes, B52, B-1, C47, B17, B25s, P51... you name it they were all there... Time passes way too fast... suddenly it was Wednesday night and time to go... Thank you to all the Mooney Caravan leaders, Sox, Sled, Slim, Goat, Joker, Meatloaf, Maria... thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I had the time of my life. See you in 2018. Oscar (Breaker)
  19. I am using a Sky-Tec. Love it.
  20. Andy, cool, where did you get it? Oscar
  21. Nice videos. What camera do you use? Oscar
  22. Nice, this was a very nice flight. BTW, I see that you are facing my problem too... I take off with a clear lens but after a short flight oil get's on it and makes it blurry.
  23. Nice video. I am now recording most of my flights. It allows me to monitor how my landings and take offs are... So don't worry, it looks much worse than it really is...
  24. Good for you! And good news for all of us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
