  2. Their motto is "We're not happy until you're not happy!"
  3. The KG-102A remote gyro was precessing badly, so I had Porter Strait up in Tulsa repair it. They quoted $1500+ for an overhaul, but I elected to do an Inspect and Repair as Necessary. They said it was in great shape and that all it needed was a capacitor and a routine service. The charges were $330 plus shipping both ways. Works perfectly now. Great service - great company!
  4. I have an M20R with an IFD540/440 combination and a M20M with an IFD540. If at all possible spend the difference and make one of them a 540, even if it means having to move a few things around. The extra screen size allows you to take advantage of all of these extras you mention. If space absolutely wouldn't allow, I would rather have one IFD 540 and a slimline NavCom like an SL-30 than two IFD440s.
  5. Maybe he was extra sharp that day and remembered that if the gear just wouldn't come down that the insurance company pays for the engine tear diwn and prop
  6. There is going to be additional labor involved if they install new mounts rather than just installing your overhauled engine on the old mounts. If your old mounts are 30 years old it seems like it's time to do it though while the engine is being overhauled. (I'm familiar with your 252 - I looked at it before you bought it.) Maybe someone can chime in on how much labor is involved in removing four engine mounts and installing four new engine mounts. It sounds like they are charging you about 4-5 hours labor.
  7. Makes sense that you spent $1000 less since you have an E model and he has a K model. According the the Lord Application Guide, an E model uses four of the J-7402-16 mounts at $114.75 each, for a total of $459.00. The 252 K model uses one of the J-9613-75 ($445 each) and three of the J-9613-76 ($387 each), for a just over $1600.
  8. I ordered a sticker from StickerYou.com for the power chart on the sun visor (less than $20). The lines on the rows were on the .xls file but didn't show up on the sticker . . oh well. The old one was a little rough. MOONEY M20M POWER SCHEDULE.xls
  9. By Lord's application guide, since you have an MB engine you need three -76 mounts and one -75. At Spruce that comes up to just over $1600 plus labor. So $2100 isn't out of the question.
  10. YOLK: the yellow and principal substance of an egg, as distinguished from the white. YOKE: something that couples or binds together; a bond or tie. (EXAMPLE: a yoke joins a human to a airplane)
  11. It's called an Aspen . Aspen will probably end up finishing the KI-300 like they did the 770.
  12. The only yaw damper I've seen in Mooneys are in 252's and Encores. In the Encore I had it. It served as a Rudder trim. The Rudder Trim I have in the Ovation serves the same purpose.
  13. Of course, but if you buy the standard SCS kit and add the Ensolite foam it would cost $585 plus shipping, instead of $340 plus shipping.
  14. This isn't mine but I ran across it on Ebay and thought it might work for someone on here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mooney-M20C-Carpet-Kit-/252322972680?hash=item3abf9f0408:g:V-EAAOSwr7ZW6jLs&vxp=mtr
  15. Looks great! That was a good decision to move the Lynx.
  16. It says Delta on the boat. I knew there wasn't much legroom in Coach, but I had no idea . . .
  17. I'd be interested in the Garmin 496 as a backup if it was around $500.

    Thanks

    Lance

  18. Whether they are broken or not, Aero Comfort can repair them and cover them with ultraleather for a permanent solution.
  19. I realize it's a different switch but you might want to read this thread:
  20. It looks promising
