  1. 100 hrs/yr and 10-15 hrs of dual at a minimum.
  2. I owned a Cessna 340 for about 10 years. Pressurized and known icing. Was flying it long distances frequently and loved it! Best airplane ever! But once I got back to more recreational flying it was a little expensive so I bought a Mooney. Love the fuel burn and I now fly whenever I want to without spending $300 on a gas evety time I fly. What airplane you buy and are happy with all depends on your mission. Twins are wonderful airplanes if you don't mind t br e cost. They are a real buy on the market today. Cheaper than a single.
  3. Never do anything from memory. Always use a checklist. It's too easy to get distracted and forget important things.
  4. Very informative thread! I'm in the market for an engine heater since I bought my C in Atlanta last year and it is now in Massachusetts where winter heating is an absolute necessity. Looks like Reiff has a nice system.
  5. Really bad for the BMW! Was always in the shop with $2,000-$3,000 repair bills! Fun car but felt like I was maintaining another airplane. Finally got rid of the BMW....
  6. Entice looking 310! I had a Q model a number of years ago. They are real traveling machines. Enjoy!!
  7. Looks like a new late-model Mooney!
  8. Very cool to keep track and land your own aircraft in all 50 states! Congratulations! I read a book a number of years ago authored by a guy who hit all 49 states with his son in a Stearman. It was a very cool trip. I've hit most east coast states, Bahamas, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland and England. Would love to put it all on a map. How do we get that cool map that some of you have on your profiles showing states visited?
  9. Only 2 in my hangar at KCEF, my M20C and a late model Ovation that I am drooling over...
  10. I did BasicMed with my primary care physician last year during my regular annual physical. No problem, it was a piece of cake! I would highly recommend it if you have a PCP who you see on a regular basis.
  11. I would compare my 68 M20C to a Porsche or BMW. Sexy, fast, sporty but a little cramped in the rear seats. My BMW costs about the same amount to maintain as my Mooney!
  12. I like that ad too! But have decided to donate. Love reading mooneyspace! How can I post an avatar pic? Site keeps telling me my pic is too large.
  13. Please put me on the map and send me the link as well. Thanks!
  14. Looks great! Notice that you have wing tip strobes. Very nice!
  15. Let's not kid ourselves, the short-body Mooneys are not made for rear-seat comfort! Kind of like owning a Porsche or BMW. If you want to fly your family and friends in comfort......buy a Cherokee Six.
  16. That is awesome! Thanks Raptor! I will take a shot at it! That is great interior lighting!
  17. Awesome! That will get my C up to 165 kts and more leg room in the back seats!
  18. Does anyone know if there is an LED conversion kit to improve the overhead panel lighting in a vintage M20C? The original lighting provides poor illumination of my panel. I can hardly even see the directional gyro at night.
  19. Sorry...G is not faster than E, either in kts or mph.
  20. Or maybe buy a twin.
  21. Great looking yokes and panel MrRodgers!
  22. Beautiful panel 1963M20C and great looking airplane! You have a real gem!
  23. Awesome image of a beautiful classic Mooney!
  24. I would not touch it. You will have so much more into it than it is worth and never get a fraction of it out on sale. Remember that you also have old obsolete avionics and electronics that will have to be replaced. If you want a project, find a nice homebuilt. That will be much more practical and rewarding in the end. Unfortunately, the airplane you are looking at is a "parts" airplane at best.
  25. I bought a pristine 68 C last January and love it! You get a lot of airplane for the price of a C; that's what attracted me to it. However, I would prefer an F for the additional rear seat space when you are carrying passengers. All around, C, E and F's are terrific values for high-performance singles!
