  1. Hello MSers! I have a customer that is looking for a GX60 that works and was wondering if anyone here has one that was removed for an upgrade? Be nice, this gentleman just lost his home in the fires here in Southern Oregon and I am trying to take care of him because of that. Please be nice and let me see what you got!!!
  2. From the AML: 10/15/20 Added M20F/M20G We will be building up package pricing for my customers. This is WAY too exciting!!!!!!!
  3. Can you send or post a pic of the wiring harness that is hooked to the Aspen? There is a reason and that is there should be a ground wire from the connector to the instrument panel and there should be about 12" of over braid on the entire Aspen harness from the connector towards the front of the plane. If that makes sense
  4. Well thank you for the plug! Lol Usually we will try to run some safety wire through then do a cone shaped tape job on the wiring on the needed wiring and either use baby powder or something like vaseline to help with the sliding. Sometimes we will cut a pre-existing wire, pull it back with another string or safety wire and use that to stagger wires and pull it back through with the OAT wires and then splice the wire we originally used back together. Make sense? Lol. Either way, it isn't fun! I am glad I hire people to that these days! Lol. I hope that helps.
  5. Uhhh....yes....thank you for clarifying that for the galactically challenged because they wouldn't know that "Baker Avionics" sells Avionics equipment. Lol
  6. Skip, thank you for the kind words! I agree totally with you post. I will say that there are 3 sides, their side, their side and then the truth. Either way, I am sorry folks have to do things like this and spread untruths about others. Like you, I feel that Chief has made it for 30+ years if ups and downs and that says LOADS! That is a great business model and they didn't get there by messing around. They have done by hard work. Sometimes we win some and sometimes we lose some and we need to take our lumos accordingly. I, personally, have nothing against any other company or their employees. I am sorry if this causes confusion.
  7. Well hello Pete! Please see screenshot. Enjoy!
  8. I truly hate to ask, but are you sure it is electric? Let me do some thinking.
  9. You need then to look at the ignition switch or the pick off where it gets the signal from. I, personally would call Dan Reisland at Lasar. He is tell you exactly what to do.

  11. Shoot me an email if you would like a copy of the installation manual or see below Mooney M20X Installation_006-00769-0000_E.pdf
  12. Tach needle is most likely the cable needs serviced. You can pull it out. cleaned the cable and the sheathing, then put some moly grease and move on.
  13. I cannot help but to somewhat agree with you on this, however, there is a reason why they do not want to get into that market, I am sure. I mean, there is a reason why their units are stand alone and primary units. There is really no need for them to reinvent the wheel on their niche. There is a reason why most of the other manufacturers use their products and technology for certifying their systems as well. For example, Dynon uses the FT-60/90 for their Skyview HDX as does Garmin in their G500TXi and other EIS units as well. I mean, there is a reason why they use EI versus other manufacturers products because they know what they are doing and will do all they can to be the best at what they do. JPI is a good product, for sure, but EI is head and shoulders above all of them, in my opinion. They make sense, the support is always phenomenal and the quality is second to none. Once you allow different hands to get into the pie, it gets muddied and then it creates issues. Some folks can do it, some can't and will just make a total mess of things. There is a reason why they do not want anyone to field configure their units and I do not lame them. We all have guidelines to follow to include the standards in the pOH of engine limitations, why would you want to change them?
  14. Richard, I totally agree! The thing is this, most people want to spend their money on the pretty and fancy avionics systems and then say "I will wait on the engine monitor until next time". We always suggest to do the engine monitor first and do it right! It doesn't matter how pretty your panel is if you cannot fly it. The engine monitor is the BEST upgrade in the cockpit anyone can do, in my opinion. Spend the extra money there. There is virtually zero upgrade for a quality and complete engine monitor that has been installed correctly and it will save you more money than anything else you can install. You will get better performance, fuel economy and will save your engine most of the time. BTW, Ryan is bringing the Aspen here to get installed. He is quite excited!!!
  15. I feel the EI is the way to go. The CGR 30P is a phenomenal choice as are any of their systems. One of the best parts is their customer service should you ever have questions. They are spot on, know their products and supported very well. Primmer and the crew there are a great resource to have at all times. We install a lot here and I would definitely suggest going with them.
  16. If you swapped the antenna coaxes behind the panel at the racks, that all but eliminates the splitter. The antenna is in good enough shape because of the 155 working fine. Things to check are to see if one of the grounds on the Nav connector has come loose or is not making contact. Also, be sure the screws on the backplate are tightened because a loose connector can not fully seat correctly causing intermittent issues.
  17. It is possible. It has the VOR Composite for the VLOC and the separate inputs for the GS. If it is staying for the #2, go for it. Not a big deal at all.
  18. If @Whiskey Charlie is still interested, Bart knows how to get in touch. He is a good guy and just wants some answers it seems. Thank you for the kind thoughts
  19. Wait, you wrote a letter to John Uczekaj and he didn't respond? Is that true? If so, you let me know and I will address that with him personally. That is NOT ok. I am not joking either Bart. I will ensure he answers you and addresses your concerns in your letter. Just let me know and if you would like, please send me the letter as well, you already have my email as we have spoken on the phone and via email before. If not it is in my signature here as well I believe. I promise to get you a response by the end of the week if you can send it NLT tomorrow. Thank you everyone and I am sorry for my high energy. I just do not like when things like that happens to good quality customers, and you too @carusoam! LOL
  20. Well Hello everyone!!!! I am looking see what our wonderful community has in the forms of DXF or DWG files for various Mooney Instrument Panels. I will not lie, I am being lazy, or let's just say, I am trying to be resourceful, Fair enough?! I am needing to pad my collection a bit and need to get. specifically a 1978 J model drawing. All panels and if there is anyone who has one that has incorporated the CB panel as well, that is even better. I looked in the "Downloads" section and there is only 1 type there and it is not for this aircraft, but I will take whatever anyone has so we can help others out as well. If you have any, either please post in the Downloads section and/or shoot it to me in an email please (See signature line). Thank you in advance and keep up the wonderful dialogs here. It is so enjoyable to see how we all react to each other and to get all of the "Tribal Knowledge" that we all share daily. Keep up the great work!!!
  21. I would call Autopilot's Central and ask for Tex. He is a great resource for these and knows the 150 very well. Even if you talk to Mike, he knows a great bit and has resources to help also.
  22. If you call their support number there is an option now for "Non-Dealer Support", I believe it is "Option 5", no joking.
  23. Here is an excerpt from the G5 Manual in regards to the OAT info and how it gets transferred: The G5 is capable of sharing OAT information with navigators and transponders over the CAN bus, which is converted to ARINC 429 at the GAD 29/29B.
  24. Paul, we aren't that far apart! I've been telling you this! We see each other's posts and pretty much agree on everything to include Pete's posts and feelings! Haha!!!!
  25. You most likely need to do a CF and reinstall the SW for the unit. Did this happen when you were doing a DB update by chance? Were you on battery power or external power, if you were doing a DB update? There is an actual Service Advisory to get this done to the unit and Avidyne is very very helpful in getting this done for customers. If I can help, please let me know. Also, did you register the IFD? If you did, they will take care of it and it usually is a 1 day turn around once they receive it if the Avionics Shop communicates with Tech Support clearly and concisely.
